  • The Birth of Grayson River Moy - Baby #2

Wednesday, Oct 17th- Grayson’s due date. I had been counting down the days to this exact date for the last 9 months and as it slowly came and went I wanted to cry. This pregnancy had been a struggle and I was so ready to meet my Grayson River and wasn’t ready to wait. I did ALL the things they tell you to do to induce labor. Literally all of them. I pumped, ate spicy foods and pineapple, drank raspberry leaf tea, bounced on a yoga ball, walked for miles and so on. Nothing seemed to be working. That Sunday, 5 days passed his due date, after walking around the farmers market for hours, Camden asked if we could go on a treasure hunt for acorns and leaves around the neighborhood. We walked and walked for over an hour. Still nothing. Whyyy wont he come out? Camden kept saying he was stuck in my tummy and I was pretty sure he was exactly right.

Fast-forward to that evening… I took a bubble bath, watched an episode of Daredevil then went to bed thinking, well, today isn’t the day. Maybe tomorrow? Around midnight I was woken up by horrible cramps. Was this it?! The cramps went away, and 10 minutes later they returned. Ummm, ok, I am starting to get excited. I timed them with my contraction app, just in case they weren’t contraction cramps but gassss 0_o Sure enough every 10 minutes a wave of pain came over me. I tracked them for about 2 hours because they started to become irregular and came every 10 to 5 minutes. Maybe it was false labor? Camden’s labor started with my water breaking so it was obvious, this time, not so much. They started to hurt more and more so I woke Phil up and told him that I THINK baby boy was coming! Get the bags daddy!!

I took a shower, put on a little make up, made coffee and breakfast and waited for my aunt to arrive to hang out with Camden boy while we would be at the hospital. By 6:30am my contractions started to really suck. I wasn’t able to talk through them anymore which is a good indication that its time to go to the hospital. At this point, still irregular, they were much closer together.

We arrived at the hospital around 7:30am and went straight to the evaluation room. I was dilated to about 4cm. Before the nurse could get “are you getting an epidural?” out of her mouth, I was already begging for one. I had to wait the longest hour and a half of my life to get the epidural. My contractions hurt so bad, it felt like my hips where being torn apart. I sobbed and squeezed the living shit out of poor Phil’s hand with every contraction. The anesthesiologist, who probably thought I was a huge psycho pain in the ass, was literally my best friend forever as soon as he stuck that giant epidural needle in my spine. As I finally felt relief my anemia started making me feel sick and woozy. Typical. The same thing happened with Camden only I was holding him in a wheelchair on my way to recovery and nearly dropped him on the floor as I started to pass out. Opps. I was given a little medicine and perked right up. I figured I had a couple of hours to progress and had planned on a nice little pain free nap while I waited. Phil stepped out to buy flowers and a breakfast sandwich. My nurse came in to check on me and to see if I had progressed and well, I was already at 9cm. I had jumped from 4cm to 9cm in 2 hours. Everyone told me second baby comes quicker and they where so right. So, I was pretty much ready to push this child out, Phil was gone, and my doctor was on his way. My nurse, who was super sassy and hilarious told me to close my legs and wait. LOL. So I did. I called Phil and told him to hurry back, Grayson was ready! He made it back just in time. I started pushing with the nurse and Phil for about 5 minutes. Gray’s head was right there and my doctor was still making his way to me. The nurse broke my water, which I guess spewed all over the place (sorry Phil!), and in came my doctor. He quickly geared up and had me continue to push. My epidural had just started working so I felt nothing when I was pushing. I had no idea how hard I was pushing or if I was even doing it right? It was weird. Right as Grayson was about to enter the world, Phil’s phone, which was connected to my speaker playing some relaxing Enya tunes, started ringing. My labor was interrupted by the Super Mario theme song by a call that was deemed “spam likely”… At that very moment, 10:30 am, Grayson River Moy, who was tired of waiting and clearly super interested in Phil’s ringtone, wiggled his own head out then followed by the rest of his body with one last push.

His umbilical chord was cut by daddy and he was all mine for the next 2 hours. It felt like time stopped for a minute right before he was placed on my chest, as I processed everything that had just happened. I was now a mom of two!!!!

     A little side note-

Something I had not talked about with more than a few close friends, my doctor and Phil, had been bothering me since I found out I was pregnant again. When Camden was born, I felt nothing. I was numb. I was cheated out of feeling overwhelmed with love for my newborn baby that I had dreamed about and spent months growing inside of me. I did not understand why I wasn’t allowed to look at him and feel happy. Instead I would sob and felt like I had already failed as a mother because I wasn’t emotionally available to him. Was this going to happen again with Grayson? I was terrified.

Once Grayson was in my arms I felt what I had been waiting for for so long. I could breathe! I was overjoyed, proud, happy, excited and just madly in love. He was perfect. He looked so much like his brother, which oddly made me feel slightly at peace with what I had missed out on with Camden.  For the next two hours we bonded over our first skin to skin sesh. It was a dream!

Grayson River Moy was born on October 22, 2018 at 10:30am. My little Libra boy was a healthy 7lbs 15oz, and 21.4” long.

  • 37 & 38 Week Pregnancy Update Plus a Few Adorable Gifts for Baby C

    How far along? 38 weeks

Total weight gain/measurements: Measuring perfectly on schedule. :) Can't be bothered with my weight at this point >.<

Maternity clothes: maternity leggings, stretchy shirts and a kimono

Stretch marks? Not yet! I have been using sweet almond oil twice a day.

Sleep: Ugh. Sleep is nice but it hurts. I have been trying to get as much sleep as possible for obvious reasons (and because I have a cold) but between my roundness getting in the way and having to pee every 20 minutes its just not in the cards.

Best moment this week:  OFFICALLY FULL TERM!!!!! YAAAASS!!! Everyday is closer and closer to baby C day, so every day RULES! Also, someone called me a "Unicorn Momma" which made me swoon extreamly hard!!

Miss anything? I miss laying on my belly! I also miss working out!

Movement: Ninja baby forever! He's so cute, he knows when Emily is near. He loves her purrs and will start squirming around as soon as she gets close. She loves him and he loves her <3

Food cravings: Ice water, fruit, pizza and oysters

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing new. Still can't stand Old Bay or popcorn (barf!!)

    Gender: My Moy Boy <3

Symptoms: Lightning crotch, cramps & swollen feet and ankles. Isn't pregnancy cute?!

Belly button in or out? Flat and occasionally out!

Wedding rings on or off? OFF! These sausage fingers couldn't take it anymore!

Happy or moody most of the time: HAPPY and anxious!

Looking forward to: Meeting my Moy Boy

We have baby registries at Target and Amazon! (for those of you who have asked)

    37 Weeks

How cute is this bunny doll and embroidery from SleepyKing?!

Sunshine Baby Clothing sent Baby C the sweetest summer romper! I cant even stand how precious it is! HUUUUGE THANK YOU! <3 Check out her shop for more vintage inspired peices for boys and girls!

  • 31 & 32 Week Pregnancy Update Plus Gifts from Living Royal Sock Company and Stitched Up Apparel Baby Boutique

    How far along? 32 weeks

    Total weight gain/measurements: 130lbs

Maternity clothes: I cracked! I had to buy larger maternity pantaloons to house these big old hips and actual maternity shirts, my non maternity shirts made me feel like a stuffed sausage. I also had to buy a belly support band.. so basically a bra for my belly. Humph!

Stretch marks? Not yet! I have been using sweet almond oil twice a day.

Sleep: Its been ok. I upped my pillow game and now use 3 big pillows. Poor Phil has little to no room left in our bed. Emily has been super clingy lately and forces herself on me every night. She will stand on me and hover until I make room for her to lay directly on my belly. She is such a weirdo. I think she likes baby boys kicks and he likes the vibrations from her purrs.

Best moment this week:  Having dinner with family at the mall and laughing for hours because we are all just so ridiculous. Also, we found a pediatrician very close to our house!

Miss anything? I miss being comfortable and not having random Braxton hicks contractions which make me instinctually grab my nether regions. -_-

Movement: This dude is crazy active! No complaints tho! I love it.

Food cravings: a glass of wine and oysters.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing new. Still can't stand Old Bay or popcorn (barf!!)

    Gender: My Moy Boy <3

Symptoms: My back is increasingly sore. But only in one spot, under my right shoulder blade. I've also started crying a lot.  Not because I am sad or anything, its just a weird reaction I have to certain things. I cried in H&R Block during taxes because the old man who was doing our taxes was SO adorable. He reminded me of someone.

Belly button in or out? FLAT and if I eat Pho it pushes out a little…. I can see having a convex bully button in my near future!

Wedding rings on or off? Engagement ring is off, wedding ring is still on. Puffy fingers are mad cute…

Happy or moody most of the time: Overwhelmed but happy and excited...

Looking forward to: Dim freaking sum this weekend!!!!

We have baby registries at Target and Amazon! (for those of you who have asked)

  • 28 Week Pregnancy Update

    How far along? 28 weeks!

Total weight gain/measurements: 124 lbs, I am supposed to gain about a pound a week from now on!

Maternity clothes: Its getting hard to wear any of my pre-pregnancy clothes. Up until now I have been getting away with stretchy shirts and tank tops, but my belly is so big, it sticks out on the bottom. So I think I am going to buy a belly band because I am not really into spending money on "maternity" tops. With the exception of pants, of course! I have a few pairs of maternity leggings and yoga pants which have been amazing!

Stretch marks? Not yet! I have been using sweet almond oil twice a day.

Sleep: Movement has picked up this past week and I can feel him all at hours, his little squirms don't keep my up yet. BUT my back pains have!

Best moment this week:  Getting his closet put together. I am a freak for organization and Phil built the perfect closet system so let the OCD organizing begin!! :)

We also reserved our "mom and pop" car at the Subaru dealership this week! We had some custom requests (of course) so we should have our new ride mid-Feb! We are SOOOO excited!

Miss anything? The 2nd trimester. LOL. It was SUCH an easy 3 months! As soon as I passed over that third trimester mark, it felt like everything changed! I became bigger, more tired, more moody and just NOT comfortable.

Movement: I love my little ninja! I just started reading in to baby mapping. I kind of don't get it, but I THINK he might be sideways?!?! I have the bulge on the right side of my belly button or where my belly button USED to be, so either thats his little (or big, like his father hehe) head or his bum. BUT when I went to my 28 week OB appointment, she found his heart at the bottom of my belly. UGH, I don't even know! I am just going to ask her next time. lol

    Food cravings: slurpee!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing new. Still can't stand Old Bay or popcorn (barf!!)

Gender: IT'S A BOY!!!!!!! My Moy Boy <3

Symptoms: Now that I am well into the third trimester, things are def different. As mentioned above, I am mad uncomfortable because I am getting so round, and my tiny upper body is having trouble supporting so much extra weight. I am much more tired this week and could literally sleep for days!!!! But I have too much to do for all of that.

Up until this week, I have had a pain-free pregnancy. I noticed some cramping and abdomen pains the other day and LOST MY SHIT! I though I may have been going into preterm labor which is my nightmare! My doc office wasn't open so I called the midwives at the hospital who calmed me right down! They told me to take a Tylenol and pop a heating pad only lower tummy for 5 minutes. I did just that and relaxed for the rest of they day, while my amazing baby daddy went out and got my crabby ass a slurpee, a snickers bar and Chinese take out. Everything a pregnant girl could want.

Belly button in or out? In, but just barely. Its pretty much flat at this point.. NOT CUTE but whatever.

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Happy or moody most of the time: I've been happy but my tolerance for anything relating to an animal in pain will ruin my entire day. We are talking tears for HOURS. Usually I let it out for a minute and I am done, still sad, but no more tears. Not the case now. I will literally cry for hours if I see an animal in pain or being abused. :(

Looking forward to: The baby shower, our new car and finishing up a few of my diy projects!

We have baby registries at Target and Amazon! (for those of you who have asked)

  • 24 Week Pregnancy Update Plus Our Family Christmas Photo & Lovely Gifts From Friends

    How far along? 24 weeks!

    Total weight gain/measurements: 117 lbs!

Maternity clothes: I can't squeeze this bump in normal panty-hoes anymore.. thats pretty obvious. But finding a pair of maternity hoes to go with my "bell shaped NYE dress" that aren't as thick as 4 layers of skin seems to be impossible.. or maybe I am not looking in the right places?

Maternity bras have happened and I am SO much happier!

Stretch marks? Not yet! I have been using sweet almond oil twice a day and I love how smooth and healthy my bump has been... minus the oily hands afterwards ;)

Sleep: Pregnancy insomnia was a little better this week. We wash our sheets every weekend and Sunday nights are always the best night's sleep!I have found that reading a book instead of being on Pinterest or Youtube before bed, helps me fall asleep, and stay comfortably asleep. Not a genius discovery, but I finally caved and put the phone down! Also, can we talk about Target's SUUUUPER cheap basic pillows for a second?! They are like $4 each and are THE MOST COMFORTABLE PILLOWS EVER! I can't be bothered with my pregnancy pillow anymore, its too big. Target pillows are my jam!

Best moment this week:  Christmas was lovely! Phil got me a Panasonic LX7 Lumix camera so we can capture our little family!

    Miss anything? Nope.

Movement: Kicks for days! He is SO active. I love the little schedule he has made for himself. He isn't keeping me up at night yet, so I am pretty thrilled about that.

    Food cravings: Everything.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing new. Still can't stand Old Bay or popcorn (barf!!)

    Gender: IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!

    Symptoms: Nothing new

Belly button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Happy or moody most of the time: Pretty happy, but a little stressed from the holiday rush.

    Looking forward to: 3rd trimester!

This year's family Chirstmas photo. Emily hated her santa beard, then loved it.

    Docs forever!!!

Beautiful Idiot Clothing sent us THE cutest outfit! A vintage gingham dress and denim shirt were upcycled and turned into denim shorts and a waistcoat. This is going to be his 4th of July outfit. Paired with a little summer fedora.

Sweetest onsie from a lovely friend! Thanks Katie!
